The best apps for sharing photos at your event (2026)

Your guests take hundreds of photos, and most of them stay on their phones. A photo sharing app brings them together in one album. Below are six options, each with what it does well, where it falls short and who it suits. Snap-e included.

Snap-e: for experiencing the event live

Best for: weddings, birthdays, parties and company events where you want to show the photos live on a screen, with guests who don’t have to install an app.

Strengths: guests scan a QR code and join in the browser. A live photo wall on up to three screens at once, with slides or messages between the photos. Inappropriate photos are filtered automatically before they appear publicly, and you can hold photos until you approve them for the wall. With Fancy you download everything in one full-quality ZIP, without a watermark. In English, Dutch and French, from a Belgian company. For businesses: your own branding and sponsor slides.

Limitations: the online gallery is temporary, 7 days with Cosy and 30 days with Fancy, so download soon. There is no guestbook, no audio guestbook, no RSVP and no seating chart. By default, guests join with their name, e-mail and a confirmation code. The free package has no live wall and no video.

Choose Snap-e if the live photo wall and moderation are at the heart of your party and you keep the photos yourself afterwards.

Wedibox: for one code for the whole wedding

Best for: couples who want photos, guestbook, RSVP, seating chart and wedding website behind one QR code.

Strengths: no app and no account for guests. Photos and videos in original quality, without compression. A live slideshow where you can approve uploads before they appear on screen. On top of that, a digital guestbook, an audio guestbook in the browser, RSVP, a seating chart with “Find My Seat” and a wedding website. Guests can upload for months, and according to Wedibox the guest page is available in 18 languages.

Limitations: Wedibox focuses on weddings. The company is Wedibox LLC; its country is not stated on the website, and the privacy policy says data may be processed outside the United States.

Choose Wedibox if you want to run the whole wedding, from RSVP to guestbook, through one code.

GuestPix: for long storage and several celebrations

Best for: weddings with several moments, such as an engagement party and a rehearsal dinner, and for anyone who wants to keep the gallery for a long time.

Strengths: no app, no account, guests enter a name. A live slideshow, even on the free plan. A written guestbook in every gallery. One ZIP in original resolution, sorted into folders by guest. On most paid packages guests can upload for 12 months and you can download up to 12 months after your event. Business packages with your own logo, colours and fonts.

Limitations: video only on paid packages. Approving photos beforehand is not publicly stated. The company is in Australia, and according to its privacy policy data is stored or processed in places including Australia, the US, the UK, Germany and the Netherlands.

Choose GuestPix if a long upload window and long storage matter more to you than a European company.

Kululu: for messages alongside the photos

Best for: parties and conferences where guests want to share text messages or captions as well as photos.

Strengths: no app and no registration. Photos, videos and decorated text posts. A live photo wall that updates in real time. Automatic detection of most inappropriate photos, and optionally every upload must be approved by you first. Everything in one ZIP. Free to start.

Limitations: languages and the exact retention period are not publicly stated; according to the privacy policy it depends on your plan, with at least 30 days’ notice before deletion. Whether downloads are full resolution is not stated. The company is Crunchy Granola LLC of Wyoming, United States.

Choose Kululu if text posts and captions alongside the photos are a must for you.

GuestCam: for finding your photos with a selfie

Best for: events with a photographer, where every guest wants to find their own photos quickly.

Strengths: no app download and no sign-up. Unlimited photos and videos in original quality. An audio guestbook in every plan. MagicFind, which lets a guest find the photos they appear in with a single selfie. Up to 12 months of uploads and up to 14 months of storage. The guest portal works in 17 languages, including Dutch and French.

Limitations: according to GuestCam, new uploads go straight to the end of the slideshow queue; approving them beforehand is not publicly stated. You run one slideshow at a time. The host portal is in English only. Data is stored with US-based cloud providers.

Choose GuestCam if an audio guestbook or finding photos with a selfie is decisive for you.

WedShoots: for free, if an app is no problem

Best for: weddings where every guest is willing to install an app.

Strengths: free, from Bodas.net. Guests upload as many photos as they like, with filters, likes and comments. A real-time gallery you can show on a projector. You download the whole album in high resolution. A Spanish company, within the EU.

Limitations: guests must install the app and enter an album code. Video, retention and approving photos beforehand are not publicly stated. The app is available in eight languages, but not in Dutch. Weddings only.

Choose WedShoots if free matters most and your guests are happy to install an app.

How to choose the right app

  • Think of your least technical guest: if it works without an app and without fuss, more people join in.
  • Check how long the gallery stays online, and plan right away when you will download everything.
  • Decide whether you want a live photo wall, and whether you want to review photos before everyone sees them.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best app for sharing wedding photos?

No single app wins everything. Wedibox is strong if you also want RSVP, a guestbook and a seating chart, GuestPix and GuestCam if you want to keep your gallery online for a year or more, and Snap-e if you want guests to join without an app, with a live photo wall, moderation and support in English, Dutch and French.

Do guests need to download an app to share photos?

Not with most current services. Snap-e, Wedibox, GuestPix, Kululu and GuestCam work in the browser through a QR code or link. WedShoots does ask guests to install the app and enter an album code.

Are there free apps for collecting guests’ photos?

Yes. WedShoots is free, and several services have a free package, including Snap-e with Cosy for a small party. Free packages usually limit the number of photos or the features, so check what you need.

How long do the photos stay online?

It varies a lot. With Snap-e the online archive lasts 7 days (Cosy) or 30 days (Fancy), so download everything in time. According to their own websites, Wedibox, GuestPix and GuestCam keep galleries online for a year or more on most paid packages.
