Wedding QR code generator

Paste a link to your invitation, wedding website or photo album and get a QR code you can print right away. Choose your colours and download it as PNG or SVG. The generator is free and runs entirely in your browser. The code stores your link directly, so it never expires and does not depend on us.

Enter a link starting with https:// to create your QR code.

What makes a QR code easy to scan

Contrast matters most: a dark code on a light background scans best. Light codes on dark backgrounds, or two similar shades, fail on many phones. The generator warns you when your colours are too close.

Leave a blank border around the code, the quiet zone, of at least the width of a few dots. Do not let text, frames or a busy background run into it. Print it at least 2 to 3 cm wide for a table card, and larger for a sign people read from a distance. A short link makes a simpler code that scans more easily.

Where to place it at your wedding

Put the code where guests have a moment to look at their phone: on every table, on the menu, at the entrance, next to the guestbook or on the bar. For a link guests need beforehand, such as the wedding website or directions, print it on the invitation.

Add one short line saying what the code does, for example “Scan to share your photos”. A code without explanation gets ignored.

No link yet? Use your photo album

A QR code only opens a link: it does not store photos or accept them on its own. If you want guests to share their photos with you, you need an album behind the code.

When you create a Snap-e event, you get a QR code that opens your shared album. Guests scan it, join in their phone browser without installing an app and add their photos. You can also download a print-ready table card from your dashboard.

Tips before you print

  • Print a test at the final size and scan it with several phones, including an older one, in light similar to the venue.
  • Use SVG for print shops and large signs: it stays sharp at any size. PNG is fine for screens and home printing.
  • Check the link itself before printing. A typo in the link cannot be fixed once the cards are printed.
  • The logo covers part of the code. Scan it again after turning the logo on.

Frequently asked questions

Is this QR code generator really free?

Yes. You can make and download as many QR codes as you like, without an account or sign-up. The code is generated in your browser and your link is not sent to a server.

Does the QR code expire?

No. The QR code contains your link directly, without a redirect service in between, so it keeps working as long as the link itself works. The flip side: you cannot change the destination after printing.

Should I download PNG or SVG?

SVG is a vector file that stays sharp at any size, which suits print shops and large signs. PNG is an image file that works everywhere, for example in a design tool or for printing at home.

Can I use coloured QR codes?

Yes, as long as the contrast stays high: a dark code on a light background. The generator shows a warning when your colours are too close together to scan reliably.

Can a QR code collect wedding photos from guests?

Not on its own: a QR code only opens a link. To collect photos you need a shared album behind it. A Snap-e event gives you an album and a QR code that opens it, so guests can add their photos from their phone browser.
